Important Coursedog Features and Processes

  • Many of the data fields are integrated with Campus Solutions, our student information system. After a proposal is approved the integrated data fields are merged with Campus Solutions.
    • Course prerequisites and major, sequence, minor, certificate requirements are not integrated with Campus Solutions; the Registrar’s curriculum staff must build these directly in Campus Solutions.

  • New and revised course proposals must be fully approved before program proposals, that include these courses, may be submitted. Undergraduate major/sequence proposals require sample plans of study; new courses must be fully approved before they may be added to a sample plan of study.

  • Each major is associated with a degree type and they are built as individual majors in Campus Solutions therefore each requires a separate proposal.

  • Only one proposal for a course, a major (associated sequences), minor or certificate may be moving through a workflow at a time. Collaboration among faculty associated with all of a major's sequences is encouraged so revisions for all sequences may be submitted on one proposal.

  • An Anchor Syllabus is required for all new and revised course proposals. It is not required for Minor Edit course proposals.

  • After a major (sequence), minor, certificate proposal is approved, the catalog it is approved for is updated with copy from the proposal. This includes, requirements, sample plans of study, major/sequence/minor/certificate descriptions, and modality.
