Coursedog Proposal Dashboard
The Proposal Dashboard provides quick access to any proposals (Coursedog also refers to proposals as Requests) you’ve created or need to review and/or "vote" on (approve/reject/route back to author).

Categories/Headings
- The Proposals Dashboard can be broken down into five categories or headings: Vote Required, Assigned to Me, Created by Me, All Requests, and Archived Requests.
Vote Required
- “Vote Required” includes all requests where the user must 'vote' or decide on a proposal.
- Approve - moves proposal to the next step in the workflow
-
Route Back - routes the proposal back
- The reviewer can select to route it back to the Author or to a previous step in the workflow.
- The reviewer can select to have the proposal return to the current step in the workflow or to reset the workflow so the proposal goes back through each step of the workflow again.
- Reject - kills the proposal entirely. This cannot be undone by anyone, including the curriculum staff or Coursedog. The Author cannot copy information from the proposal to use in a new proposal.
- A proposal won’t appear here until it’s at your step in the approval workflow.
-
Only specific users have permission to "Vote" on or Approve, Reject, or Route Back, a proposal. These include, chairs of curriculum committees, Deans, (or their designee), Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Education and the Associate Vice President for Graduate Education and International Engagement.
-
The Department/School Curriculum Committee and Department Chair/School Director Workflow Step
- This step includes both the department/school curriculum committee and the department chair/school director.
- 2 Votes (1 by the Committee Chair and 1 by the Department Chair/School Director) are required to approve a proposal and move it to the next step in the workflow
- 1 vote is required to route a proposal back to the author or to a previous step in the workflow
- 1 vote to Reject a proposal
-
The Department/School Curriculum Committee and Department Chair/School Director Workflow Step
Assigned to Me
- If you’re on any step in a workflow for a proposal it will be listed on the “Assigned to Me” tab.
- If the proposal creates an impact for a department (the proposal will include a “Creates Impact” label) and the user is associated with that department's curriculum committee or is that department's chair, it will appear on this tab.
Created by Me
“Created by Me” only shows proposals created by the user.
All Requests
“All Requests” shows all ISU proposals/requests in the system, regardless of whether or not the user is associated with it.
Archived Requests
- Shows the proposals that were archived (by users or the Curriculum office staff with the “Archive Requests”).
- Archived proposals/requests are only displayed on the “Archived Requests” tab.
- After a proposal/request is fully Approved or Rejected, it should be Archived.
